Surabaya Focus Group Discussion: Enhancing Data Quality for Urban Planning and Policies

The Surabaya City Statistics Agency, in collaboration with the Surabaya City Development Planning Agency, recently organized a Focus Group Discussion aimed at refining the compilation of Surabaya Statistics (SS) data. This initiative was undertaken to elevate the quality and accuracy of the SS data, which serves as a primary information source for urban planning, evaluation, and local government policymaking.

During the event, participants not only discussed the compilation of SS data but also engaged in capacity-building activities for sectoral statistical data. Part of this capacity-building included discussions on the procedures for submitting statistical activity recommendations and reporting metadata. This effort aimed to ensure that the process of collecting and reporting statistical data in Surabaya runs smoothly and adheres to established standards.

Through such collaborative efforts, it is hoped that the partnership between the Surabaya City Statistics Agency and the municipal government will continue to strengthen. Ultimately, these endeavors aim to ensure that the available data provides an accurate and comprehensive overview of the conditions and developments in Surabaya.
