Abstract

• The export value of East Java in January 2021 reached USD 1.54 billion or decreased by 13.79 percent compared to December 2020. This value compared to January 2019 also decreased by 14.60 percent.
• Non-oil and gas exports in January 2021 reached USD 1.38 billion or decreased by 9.18 percent compared to December 2020. This value compared to January 2020 also decreased by 21.40 percent.
• Oil and gas exports in January 2021 reached USD 151.31 million or decreased by 41.14 percent compared to December 2020. This value actually increased by 308.96 percent compared to January 2020.
• The main categories of non-oil and gas export goods in January 2021 were Animal or Vegetable Fats and Oils amounting to USD 158.53 million, followed by Copper at USD 115.17 million and Timber and Wood Products amounting to USD 110.88 million.
• The largest export destination country in January 2021 was Japan, reaching USD 245.70 million (17.75 percent) followed by exports to the United States amounting to USD 223.27 million or with a role of 16.13 percent, and then to China amounting to USD 122, 26 million (8.83 percent). Non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN region reached USD 283.13 million or contributed 20.46 percent, while non-oil and gas exports to the European Union reached USD 109.16 million (7.89 percent).

• The Import Value of East Java in January 2021 reached USD 1.75 billion or decreased by 13.72 percent compared to December 2020. This figure is also 13.48 percent lower than in January 2020.
• Non-oil and gas imports in January 2021 reached USD 1.40 billion or decreased by 18.91 percent compared to December 2020. The value of non-oil and gas imports also decreased by 9.51 percent compared to January 2020.
• Oil and gas imports in January 2021 amounted to USD 356.96 million, an increase of 15.13 percent compared to December 2020. When compared to January 2020, this figure actually decreased by 26.15 percent.
• The main non-oil and gas import goods category in January 2021 was the Machinery / Mechanical Aircraft group amounting to USD 154.65 million, followed by the Iron and Steel group for USD 108.72 million and the Plastics and Plastic Goods group for USD 91.71 million.
• The largest country of origin for non-oil and gas imports during January 2021 was from China with a value of USD 504.42 million (36.15 percent), followed by the United States at USD 120.12 million (8.61 percent) and South Korea at USD 61 , 90 million (4.44 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from the ASEAN group of countries reached USD 152.26 million (10.91 percent), while non-oil and gas imports from the European Union reached USD 92.70 million (6.64 percent).
