Abstract

Of the eight CPI cities in East Java, six cities experienced inflation and two cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sumenep Regency at 0.42 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Malang and Madiun at 0.11 percent respectively.
  • Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most of the indexes of the expenditure group. Of the eleven expenditure groups, ten groups experienced inflation and the remaining one group experienced deflation. The expenditure group that experienced the highest inflation was the education group at 0.82 percent, followed by the health group at 0.70 percent, the food, beverage and tobacco group at 0.30 percent, the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group and the transportation group respectively. -0.09 percent each, food and beverage/restaurant supply group 0.04 percent, clothing and footwear group and housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups each 0.02 percent and information, communication, and financial services and personal care and other services groups by 0.01 percent each. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced deflation was the recreation, sports and culture group of 0.01 percent
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year July 2021 is 1.06 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2021 to July 2020) is 1.65 percent.
