Abstract

Of the eight CPI cities in Jawa Timur, all of them experienced inflation. Highest inflation occurred in Sumenep Regency by 0.65 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Kota Madiun by 0.22 percent. 
  • Inflation occurs due to a fairly high price increase, which is shown by the increase in almost all indexes of expenditure groups. Of the eleven groups expenditure, nine groups experienced inflation, one group experienced deflation and the other one did not change. Expenditure group that experiencing the highest inflation is the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 0.76 percent, followed by the food, beverage and tobacco groups by 0.67 percent, personal care and other services by 0.58 percent, household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group of 0.35 percent, transportation group by 0.31 percent, health group by 0.22 percent, recreation, sports, and culture group 0.21 percent, group clothing and footwear by 0.10 percent, as well as housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 0.09 percent, while the expenditure group those experiencing deflation are the information, communication, and financial services groups by 0.01 percent. The groups that did not change were education group.
